Welcome to the SIS Elementary Library! We are located on the 2nd floor of the elementary building. We have over 20,000 books available for check out! The library is open weekdays from 7:45am-3:45pm.  Please click HERE to search the elementary catalogue.

Elementary Library Borrowing Policy:

Grades K-1: Students may borrow 1 book at a time. Students are only allowed to check out picture books from the everybody section of the library. Students may check out a new book as often as they like. However, books must be returned within 2 weeks of their initial checkout date.

Grades 2-5: Students may borrow 2 books at a time. Students may check out fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels.  They may also check out audiobooks called Playaways. Students may check out a new book as often as they like. However, books must be returned within 2 weeks of their initial checkout date.

Parents may borrow 5 books at a time.  Parents may check out any book or DVD in the library.  Books are due after 2 weeks and DVDs after 1 week. To avoid disrupting teaching, the best time for parents to visit the library is from 7:45am-8:45am or 1:00pm-3:45pm.  Please note the library is closed from 12:00pm-1:00pm for lunch.

Library Usage After School:

The library is open after school from 3:00pm-3:45pm.  Students are not allowed to be in the library without supervision from an adult during this time.  If your child would like to visit the library after school please make sure you are with them to supervise.  

Lost Books: 

If a book has been overdue for a month, the library will send a reminder note that includes the cost of replacing the book in Korean won. If the book cannot be found, it must be paid for in order for the student to continue borrowing books from the library.  If the book is found and returned in good condition during this school year, the cost of the book will be refunded to you.

Damaged Books: 

If a book is returned damaged (wet, ripped, written on, dirty, etc.) it will need to be replaced.  A note will be sent home that includes the cost of replacing the book.  As with lost books, the replacement cost must be paid before the student can continue to borrow books.
