Dear Middle School Parents:

The month of May at SIS will prove to be a very busy month for our students and faculty. This month will see your children finishing up any last minute projects and they will be studying for their year-end exams, which begin the week of June 5th.

Please note that we have three holidays for SIS students and staff in May in which our school is closed. These days are: Buddha’s Birthday, Wednesday May 3rd, School closed May 4th and Children’s Day, Friday, May 5th.  In addition, the High School Graduation takes place on May 19th and all students will be dismissed at noon on this day.

Middle School Exams will begin on Monday, June 5th and finish on Wednesday, June 7th. There will be a MS exam timetable sent out to SIS Families shortly detailing the dates, time and exams written on each day. In addition, this timetable will also include other details for the the final week of school.

We have a fun filled MS Grade 8 class trip planned for this month. The Grade 8’s head out for 3 days and 2 nights beginning on Tuesday, May 16th to Thursday, May 18th. I am positive that all our students will experience a terrific year-end class trip and return home on Thursday with many wonderful memories to share.

We will also hold our Middle School Student Council elections this month for next year’s MSSC Council. More information about these student elections can be found on our SIS website.

We are looking forward to our MS Spring Concerts which occur in May. The date for our concerts is May the 11th with the Prelude Concert beginning at 2:00 and the Coda and Opus Concert starting at 4:00 pm. We look forward to seeing many of you at this wonderful event!

Last but certainly not least, I want to thank our Room Moms for all their assistance this year. Your time, energy and support that was devoted to the various grade levels and activities is appreciated and you all deserve a huge thank you from our students and staff!

I hope all our SIS families enjoy the warm May temperatures and that you have a terrific month ahead!

Sincerely,

Tim Teiman

MS Principal
