Welcome to the Middle School Counseling page!
The counseling department’s role in Middle School is to assist in the critical transition our students are making from childhood to young adulthood. While focus of our students is primarily academic, our mission reflects the firm belief that development must be holistic and balanced if students are to achieve their greatest potential. The SIS counseling department recognizes that forming joint partnerships with the stakeholders (parents, teachers, counselors and administrators) in a child's education is the most important way to foster growth and change for our students. In addition to providing academic support for students, the middle school counseling department assists in promoting healthy living habits and positive interpersonal interactions with peers. This is accomplished through one-on-one interviews with every student, classroom visits, and level transition activities that bring elementary students into the middle school environment as well as prepare eighth grade students for entry into high school. The counseling office also offers a range of services from tutoring to boarding school placement. To learn more about the counseling department at SIS, please visit our Google site at:
